With Utopia, we are committed to the goal of sustainable development. Therefore, we only work with companies that, like us, want to contribute to a more sustainable world. We have formulated clear principles for the selection of our advertising and cooperation partners.
As a digital media brand, Utopia.de is financed to a significant extent by online advertising on our platform. The following companies and institutions can advertise on Utopia:
- „Green“ companies and institutions that exclusively offer sustainable products and services. We measure these by the award of recognised seals of the respective industry or comparable standards.
- Conventional companies that
- are committed to the principle of sustainability and
- have anchored sustainability in their corporate strategy and their core business and
- report regularly, openly and transparently on their commitment to sustainability
These criteria are checked by the sustainability experts in the Utopia team before any cooperation takes place. Conventional companies may only communicate on Utopia about sustainable products and services or about sustainability projects and initiatives.
The booking of native integrations and social media formats is subject to case-by-case review.
These principles apply to all formats that we market ourselves. The principles do not apply to banner spaces that we market via programmatic advertising platforms or external marketing agencies, as we cannot actively influence the selection. The following exclusion principles therefore apply to programmatic marketing and marketing by external agencies. Excluded from advertising on Utopia are campaigns that advertise offers from these markets:

- Pornography
- Armament

Affiliate/advertising links on Utopia
Another way Utopia finances itself is through so-called affiliate links, which are marked with a **. These can be found in best lists, editorial articles, guides and galleries. When you click on one of these links, Utopia may receive payment for it. Exactly what for depends on the cooperation partner: As a rule, the remuneration is linked to the fact that a concrete offer or deal is made.
This remuneration has no significance for the user. It does not affect the price the user pays on the partner site. Above all, the remuneration never influences the editorial Utopia recommendations for products and services. These are made exclusively under sustainability aspects. The affiliate links are only set after the article has been completed and have no influence on the research of our editorial team. Our editors pursue only one goal with their work: to offer the user the best sustainable buying advice.
